Currey and Company Updates 7 Seating Designs by Edward Wormley

Edward Wormley spent three decades as design director of Dunbar Furniture Company, singlehandedly transforming the sleepy Indiana manufacturer into an arbiter of postwar chic. After Wormley died and it shuttered in the ’90’s, the legacy might have been lost. Then, luckily, a former financial executive, Andy Hiser, acquired the intellectual property of the company and reestablished it in North Carolina, making the designs available to the trade. They’re now being more widely distributed, too, through an agreement allowing Currey and Company to reproduce and update seven of Wormley’s seating designs. Tear Drop is a chair with cast-aluminum legs. The Austen armchair perches on walnut legs—two straight, two curved, and all four sporting matte brass sabots. Te?te a?
