Walala
was invited to make her mark on this Islington boutique during
September’s London Design Festival (LDF)—literally. She adorned it
inside and out with her signature prints while creating a capsule
collection of cushions, mugs, and more. Also in stock: everything from
contemporary furnishings (see Fritz Hansen, Kartell) to lifestyle

“Darkroom
is my ultimate design shop,” says Walala. “I absolutely love everything
they have on display!” This is not hugely surprising, considering all
of the boldly patterned accessories—handmade housewares, stationary,
leather goods—lining the Bloomsbury flagship’s black walls (hence the

The
designer calls this Dalston concept store a “fantastic neon circus.”
Expect a kaleidoscopic cabinet of curiosities featuring brightly colored
bespoke furnishings, custom jewelry, and whimsical paintings by the

Grace and Thorn
For
asymmetrical bouquets and plants in exotic animal-shaped vases, Walala
heads to this stylish florist near Hackney City Farm. 338 Hackney Rd.;

Triangle,
on Clapton’s up-and-coming Chatsworth Road, mixes midcentury furniture
with emerging fashion labels and contemporary Scandinavian designs—and
“they style everything beautifully,” says Walala. “They also got a stall
at Broadway Market where I have been buying some of my favorite lamps
